There’s an old saying that goes: if you like to eat sausage, don’t ever go see how it’s made. I like sausage, and I’ve been in slaughter houses and meat processing plants, and saw how it’s made. I still eat sausage, but I understand why they say that.
So if you consider yourself a loyal patriotic American who has faith and trust in the federal government, you shouldn’t go to Washington, D.C. to see your government in action, or mostly inaction. The space between the letters makes all the difference in the world. Your faith and trust will be smashed all to hell. It ain’t what ya thunk it to be.
I went around the Senate and House offices with a few people on Friday, Jan. 26th. We spoke with staffers who knew nothing about depleted uranium and its use in bombs. Some House intelligence committee leaders don’t know that there are different sects of the Muslim religion, and which are where. How can they comprehend what’s going on in the Middle East if they don’t know that?
I don’t remember who first said it, but I often quote it: “George Bush is arrogant about his ignorance”. That’s a hell of a thing, especially because it’s true. Well, Congress is filled with plenty of arrogant idiots. Hypocrisy is epidemic, and it infects many in Congress. Republicans, with Bush as their leader, are drenched in hypocrisy, and Democrats are far from immune. D.C. is like L.A. After a few days I want to get back to reality.
I admire some true patriots who have spent several weeks inside the Beltway speaking truth to power, and trying to talk common sense to bombastic buffoons. I couldn’t do it that long. I’d have to bitch-slap them, and arrest them for felonious pomposity. I sure don’t like the legislative sausage they usually make there. Now THAT’S disgusting!
