While he doesn't have the evil streak of his bro, he does yet have his own issues. He played the fools game in the Terri Schiavo fiasco, seemingly jumping into the middle of every wrong side and inventing a few of his own. His political tact was to run on an educational ticket, and in doing so he managed to gin up the numbers to make himself look good while taking a bottom-run educational state and making it slightly worse (if one cares to look at reality instead of his propaganda). And like his papa, he also greased the machinery to put his criminal brother in the highest office of the land. If all that adds up to "good politician," then I guess it's the context that's being considered. Possibly he was the best of the Bushes..., but frankly I'd rather have Barney Bush running things. Jeb Bush was the one that they expected could follow the father to the White House.. He was very bright and a capable Governor of Florida. The biggest reservation I have about Jeb is that he was a key player in PNAC. In any case, the Neocons propped up Dubya as their front and the rest is history. The father was a good president , but except for Jeb, did not do a great job at raising sons. I suspect that Bush the Elder is wincing at each bungling stroke of Bush the Lesser.
