I’ve been loath to admit that the shrieking lunacy of the summer []had much to do with race.
Some people just can’t believe a black man is president and will never accept it.

It’s always about race, gender, sexual orientation, or the Constitutional rights of the moneyed vs the middle class with conservatives.
The only thing that has changed is that they are blatant about it now and the MSM is allowing them to legitimize their bigotry. We have not only allowed the Far Right to dumb down society, we are handing it to their barbarians at the gate.
You keep on thinking someone like Edward R. Murrow will step up to the plate. Hasn’t happened yet. I’m beginning to think Democrats are afraid of success and no longer know how to use power…or they are corrupted by the multinationals, too.
Or, you know, maybe they just don’t think higher taxes and governmental control of industry will improve the standard of living. Or something like that.
It is usually a mistake to believe that your opposition is motivated only by moronic evil; it is ALWAYS self-righteous. Hubris causes more harm to the human brain than can bullets.
Or maybe I’m wrong to not assume moronic evil-intent, and all those protesters (including the black ones) would prefer their children starve than see a black man in the Oval Office. After all, they disagree, so it logically follows that they eat puppies and laugh at cripples.
