Hi keedo. The part of my genome that’s not Irish is Norwegian. Might be a good place to live. Some sort of society with room for capitalism where it works and socialism (Christianity?), where morals and human decency require, might save us all. Meanwhile, back in the States, the best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity.
Tonio K has a line in a song that starts “Out here at the end of America”. The repeated refrain is “Say goodbye”.
It’s fascinating you’ve got Percy Shelley on here. I used to dismiss his poetry as jejune, but right about now Ozymandias sounds very good as it might refer to the Vulcans, aka the neocons. “Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair.” certainly fits. Was Shelley an anarchist?
"You are not your bank account. You are not the clothes you wear. You are not the contents of your wallet. You are not your bowel cancer. You are not your grande latte. You are not the car you drive. You are not your fucking khakis… I say, let me never be complete. I say, may I never be content. I say, deliver me from Swedish furniture. I say, deliver me from clever art. I say, deliver me from clear skin and perfect teeth… I say, evolve, and let the chips fall where they may." ~Chuck Palahniuk
