Veterans Department Creates Roadblocks to Voter Registration for Injured Vets

VA Secretary says registering voters in VA facilities is a “partisan” distraction.

  1. This isn’t surprising given that the tide appears to be turning against the GOP, even among veterans and active duty military personnel. ABC’s Martha Raddatz report on how troops plan to vote, which aired on Monday’s World News Tonight, indicated that a majority favored Clinton or Obama over McCain.

    Moreover, we’ve seen a significant exodus from the military of high-ranking officers who’ve opposed the Bush war policies, and organizations of veterans against the war continue to grow in size and in influence.

  2. Isn’t it strange that these same Bushites were chiding Gore’s lawyers in 2000 for suggesting that some of the suspect military ballots with late dates or suspect signatures not be counted?

    Now that they might vote against the GOP, military vets are being dennied access to registration?
